Cherokee Interview 1999

When We Were Stars Cherokee Interview from 1999 in Los Angeles.

Cherokee…

Born in Harlem and raised in Brooklyn.  In 1999, she landed a production deal with Herb Trawick and was signed to Trip/RCA records. Her debut album „I Love You Me“ had huge critical claim. Cherokee quickly became a press darling and was featured in Top magazines & a few fashions shows in New York. She also landed a hug GAP campaign, GAP commercial and two indie films under her belt. But unfortunately… RCA shut down the black division and Cherokee was then picked up by LA Reid at Arista Records. Cherokee delivered a outstanding sophomore album entitled „Soul Parade“. The album was never released.
